Mad Silah Towilah is the Ha ’Dhomir or Ha’ Kinayah come across with hamzah in two words with the condition that the Ha ’dhomir must be located between two vowel letters.
RATE OF HARAKAT
The rate of Harakat Mad Silah Towilah is the same as the long rate of Mad Munfasil which is 4 or 5 harakat when Wasal (continue) and should be Sukun or not extended when Waqaf (stop)
The sign of Mad Silah Towilah can be identified by looking at the letter Ha ‘ followed by the small letter Ya’ or small letter Wau that has a long mark on it and followed by the letter Hamzah.
Another name for Mad Silah Towilah is Mad Silah Kubra. Named Silah which means to continue is because the word is extended its reading with Wau or Ya ‘ at the time of Wasal (continue), but it should read Sukun when waqaf (stop). It is called Kubra because it is followed by vowel hamzah after it which causes it to be read more than 2 harakat which is 4 or 5 harakat.
The hukm for this rule is Jaiz which is better to prolong or extend elongation. So, this Mad should be read 4 or 5 harakat on the side of Imam Hafs ‘An Asim (Quranic scholar) through the stream of Imam As-Syatibi.
